Principal's Message

Welcome Sisk Knights!

My name is Katie Cantu, and I have been the Principal of Sisk Elementary School since 2021.  Sisk Elementary is a caring community committed to providing students with a safe, welcoming learning environment.  We have an amazing staff who are extremely dedicated to fostering a love for learning and motivating all students to do their personal best.  I am thrilled to introduce our new Instructional Coach of Interventions, Ms. Camrynn Broumas, who will run our Learning Center and oversee reading interventions, assist with English Language Development, and support the implementation of our new math curriculum, Classroom Mathematics California.  Please join me in welcoming Ms. Broumas!

Sisk provides students with many rich learning opportunities, including PE, Art, Music, and STEAM activities.  Our school counselor, Maria Cardenas, provides classroom guidance lessons to all classes, incorporating the 12 Tools from the Toolbox Project and the 7 Habits of Successful Kids.  We are continuing our PBIS model (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) — we teach students our behavioral expectations and reward them for demonstrating the “3 Rs” (Respectful, Responsible, and Ready).  Students will earn points that they can use at our School Store through the PBIS Rewards online program!  We also have an active Parent Teacher Group (PTG) that supports our students’ education by helping with enriching field trips and assemblies.  All parents, guardians, and caregivers are welcome to participate in our PTG!

I look forward to partnering with you again this year to provide Sisk Knights with a memorable, inspiring learning experience.
